5.5 magnitude Earthquake hits KPK.

Pakistan Meteorological Department conveyed that the earthquake originated from Bannu district at a depth of 12 kilometres. The quakes were felt through Peshawar, Bannu and Dir.

Peshawar and adjoining areas were jolted up in the early hours of the day as the quakes lasted for 20 seconds. Tremors have been felt as far as Dir.

United States Geological Survey claimed the magnitude was 5.1 on the Ritcher Scale, compared to PMD’s 5.5 rating.

There has been no incident of fatalities, however several children have been injured as per reports.

9 children were injured in an attempt to flee the Government Model School in Bannu.
