Atif Aslam stopped promoting Indian song after the recent Ban

Atif Aslam recently turned down all the requests to promote his latest song Sehmi hai dhadkan from the upcoming Bollywood movie Daas Dev, says the producer of the movie, Sanjeev Kumar. The producer even added, ““Atif said he will do it, but it hasn’t been done. I’m not sure why he isn’t taking part in the activity, but, as a producer, I see that work promised hasn’t been executed,”

The issue ignited when a singer turned politician Babul Supriyo last month requested for a ban on Pakistani artists working in Bollywood. He also objected on the recent song of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in the movie Welcome to New York. It is not the first time that this behavior is coming forward from Indian politician, but this has been the part of their routine. Artists must not be dragged into the dirty politics and jingoism.

Foreign Office spokesperson Muhammad Faisal talking to Tribune said, “It is unfortunate that art and cinema, which bring people together by acting as cultural bridges, are being held hostage to hate and xenophobia, Unfortunately this decision, following several others, including non-issuance of visas to Pakistani pilgrims, refusal to allow participation of Sikhs and Katas Raj pilgrims, and cancellation of sports matches, underscores the growing intolerance and bias prevalent in India,”

We hope things will be set to normal, because peace is the only thing we need between our borders, rather than hatred and shelling. Want to share your views on this ? comment below and let us know about it.
