Daraz server went down on the biggest sale day of the year 11.11. The hype of the extravaganza sales day was being marketed in full-swing from the last couple of months. Pakistanis were super excited for the day and took a time-off from all of their shopping just for this day.

Daraz Website Went Down Just As Daraz 11.11 Sale Kicked Off

Every year Daraz offered huge discounts on a particular sales day – previously adopted the US trend of Black Friday. Since the Pakistan leading e-commerce acquired by the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, Daraz came up with the Chinese Single’s day sales same as the Alibaba’s.

Even after the website crash, the people get some hours to avail the mega discounts of up to 90% on Daraz, nonetheless, it did affect the anticipated figure of the sales. Last year Daraz generated record-breaking one-day sales of Rs 3 Billion on Black Friday.

Alibaba Record-Breaking Sales on 11.11

Where Daraz underperformed on 11.11, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd shattered the records of all-time single-day sales accumulated 213.5 Billion Yuan ($30 Billion) from its sales extravaganza. It surpassed its own last year’s records of 168 Billion Yuan sales ($24.15 Billion).

‘Double 1’1 popularly known as single’s day sales is now the world’s biggest online shopping event outranking the United States Black Friday event.

Alibaba smashed the figure of approximately 69 billion Yuan ($9.92 billion) in the first hour and crossed the 100 billion Yuan ($14.3 billion) mark in two hours of Singles’ Day on Sunday, said the Alibaba News Website.

Apple remained the top selling mobile phone brand in the record-breaking single’s day sale Chinese mobile brands Huawei and Xiaomi were came second and third respectively.

11 November Single’s day event is the popular Chinese event that celebrated on the contrary to Valentines Day, the day is popular among young Chinese adult and it is meant to celebrate the pride of singlehood.
