The government of Canada has made an announcement that the officials of Canada will be in Dominica from February 22-23, 2023 to carry out the biometric processing for persons who are wishing to obtain visas.
The High Commission of Canada in Barbados and the OECS, has made the following announcement, adding that, “As a part of the visa application process, Dominica nationals must provide biometric information (fingerprints and a photo) when applying for a visitor visa, study, work or either temporary residence permit, or either for permanent residence.
It further added that, “During the upcoming December dates, Dominica visa applicants may take the chance to provide biometric details in Dominica rather than travelling abroad. Outside of the visit, standard procedures remain for Dominica nationals to travel to biometrics collection points in Barbados, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, or Trinidad and Tobago.”
It further noted that if someone is planning to travel to Canada for purpose of study, business, family reunions, tourism, other reasons. Then make sure to complete your online visa application as soon as possible to take advantage of this opportunity in February.”
At the same time, the High Commission of Canada in Barbados and the OECS added that:
This exercise is geared towards these individuals:
– Dominica nationals who anticipate travel to Canada;
– Persons who have already applied whether online or either by mail for a visa, work or either study permit or for permanent residence & have received their Biometric Instruction Letter
– Nationals of other biometric information-required nations residing in Dominica planning to travel to Canada.
It has further informed that, “All applicants are required to bring their Biometrics Instruction Letter AND Passport with them to their appointment to have their biometrics taken. The cutoff for scheduling an appointment is Thursday, February 16, 2023, and there are limited number of appointments available for the 2-day collection visit.”
