FIA Formula E Championship 2018/19 will be competed in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has become home to regular breaking news due to the reforms of Saudi Arabia 2030.

On Thursday, FIA Formula E announced it’s agreement with Saudi Arabian Motor Federation and Saudi Arabia General Sports Authority to debut its 2018/19 E Racing Championship in Riyadh

E Racing has been revolutionary as opposed to the traditional styles of racing, as the cars use renewable electrical energy. It has debuted next generation sports cars, ever since it commenced in 2014/15.

The agreement set to last 10 years, will oversee the first fully-electric race in the region; the exciting news signals, the start of a new era of Formula E with the eagerly-anticipated competitive debut of the next generation cars.

“Bringing racing to Riyadh is the perfect setting for the next phase of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship” said  Founder & CEO of Formula E Alejandro Agag. “A country that is focusing on its future, Saudi Arabia will be the ideal venue to mark the competitive debut of the next generation Formula E cars. We think Saudi Arabia – with the new vision is a fitting location to launch the latest chapter of the electric street racing series

Khaled Bin Sultan Bin Abdullah AlFaisal, President of the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation and Abdulaziz bin Turki AlFaisal Al Saud, Vice-Chair of the Saudi Arabia General Sports Authority, also expressed their delight in reaching an agreement. All 3 parties stated in unison that they see this deal as a new chapter in the progress of the sporting culture in the country.
