21st of September would have marked the 91st birthday of Madam Noor jehan. The queen of melody won the hearts around the globe through her unique style of singing. Google doodle tributes legendary Noor jehan on their homepage.

Madam Noor jehan’s original name was Allah Rakhi Wasai, born in the Kasur district on 21st September 1925. She was queen a title of  Malika-e-Tarannum (Queen of melody). Her melodious voice and unique style was the reason she won the hearts around the world. Madam Noor jehan was one of the influential singer in the subcontinent. Not even just singing, she was also an skilled actress. After partition Madam Noor and her husband decided to move to Karachi. In 1951 she starred in her first Pakistani movie  Chan Wey, opposite Santosh Kumar. She recorded songs in different languages of south east Asia, including Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi and Hindi. 

Government of Pakistan have also awarded her Sitara e Imtiaz and Tamgah e Imtiaz. She was on of the biggest asset of Pakistan industry.

Google have featured her in purple Saari, with her signature flower on the side and golden choker. The doodle has great semblance of her this song.
