The Minister of Tourism of Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Denise Charles, on Friday, has taken part in the Focus on Government and Development programme. It is to be mentioned that during the talks, the Tourism Minister Denise Charles held the discussion on the ongoing plans and policies of the Tourism Ministry.

During the discussion, the host of the programme, considered about the Soufriere constituency. Noting to which, Minister Denise Charles stated that, “The Soufriere is great, in fact we just held Mother’s day activities, and everyone had a fantastic time. All the mothers have told me that they want the same activities next year. And in terms of project, we are advancing very nicely with the housing development. Hopefully the homes in the Scottshead will be completed in September. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that those in the Pointe Michel will be ready for Christmas.”

She further said that the Ministry of Tourism is currently engaged in doing some other projects in the Soufriere constituency. Noting to which, she said that, “I’m very happy that I was able to complete multipurpose court in Pointe Michel.”

At same time, she also shared that, “We also have some upcoming projects. In terms of tourism, there is another project in the Scottshead on the peninsula, something I am really excited about it. Because I think it is going to be perfect place for romance and tourism. There, people can come with their loved ones and sit on the peninsula and enjoy the ambience, enjoy the view, but enjoy the cuisine of Scottshead. So will be there sitting, having fun, but ordering your food from the number of restaurants that we have in Scottshead.”

During the talks, she asked people of Soufriere constituency to remain patient, as Minister Charles highlighted that there are tons of projects currently in the pipeline.

It is to be mentioned that, Minister Denise Charles said that, “It is great time for Dominica, we’ve been highlighted in the Times Magazine, CNN, Forbes, Lonely Planet, Travel & Leisure. Dominica has accomplished all this in the first quarter of 2023. The development of tourism industry has been started several years ago on the Dominica Labour Party administration.”

Considerably, she also discussed number of plans and the already installed plans that the Government of Dominica has undertaken to boost the tourism sector along with benefiting the citizens of the Dominica as well.
