INSTAGRAM’S NEW INITIATIVE TO TACKLE FAKE LIKES AND COMMENTS
We love Instagram right? Instagram, the platform for photo sharing and marketing has started a new initiative. As sometimes we used to think how some accounts have massive number of followers although they don’t worth it. Here is the answer, they used to fake. And this new initiative of Instagram tackles the fake likes and comments.
Instagram says that it has developed a new tool to identify the accounts that use third-party to artificially boost their fake likes and comments for popularity.
But before taking an action, Instagram will warn those accounts to change their passwords.
Since Instagram has started, it has become a large platform for business and marketing. Influencers with a large number of followers get paid to review the market products. Beacuse of this, some people use the other way to get engagement on their account to get noticed.
Last year a company showed how easy it has become to be a fake influencer. After that, many popular fake followers app were shut down.
Such fake likes and comments services requires private information of the account, like the login password. Which the app warns violates its community guidelines. Because they cant compromise individual security.
Instagram says that its “just another step to keep the app a vibrant community where people connect in authentic ways”.
They also said, people who continue to use third-party apps to fake activity “may see their Instagram experience impacted”.
In 2012, Instagram was purchased by Facebook for $1bn (£760m) in cash. From that time to now it has continued to grow in popularity in recent years. Now it has Billions of users all over the world.
Although, In September, its founders announced they were leaving the facebook firm because of some tensions between them.
