Saint Lucia: Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre attended the first CARICOM-Saudi Arabia Summit in Riyadh. He was conjoined by the CARICOM Chairman, Roosevelt Skerrit and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz AI Saud.
According to Pierre, It was a historic event that officially marked the expansion of the country and region in forging relationships that foster cooperation in technology, climate resilience, tourism, and infrastructure departments.
PM Pierre looks forward towards the knowledge exchange as they embark on the reconstruction of the St Jude Hospital and other bilateral investments for the people of Saint Lucia.

Prime Minister of Saint Lucia participated in the first-ever Saudi Arabia – CARICOM Summit. His colleagues, the heads of government, were also present.
PM Pierre joined the summit under the patronage of His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman AI Saud and inaugurated the summit ceremony on November 16, 2023.
PM J. Pierre focuses primarily on the reconstruction of St. Jude Hospital to enhance the medical facilities and the George Odlum Stadium to establish advanced features for the welfare of the citizens of Saint Lucia. He is confident about continuing the relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Prime Minister reached Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. There, he was received by the Deputy Governor of Riyadh region, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz and several other officials.
The PM arrived there with other regional leaders. Other delegates at the Summit were CARICOM Chairman Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
All of them were engaged in intellectual discussions with King Salman bin Abdulaziz AI Saud and Prime Minister and Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman at the one-day investment forum.
PM Philip Pierre departed for Riyadh from the V.C. Bird International Airport on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Pierre left the airport with the Prime Minister of Grenada – Dickon Mitchell, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Terrance Drew and Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda – Gaston Browne.
The Prime Minister will return with other members to Saint Lucia on Saturday. The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia completely sponsors the trip.
