La Liga Title Race 2017: An essential point at Malaga would be enough for the Madristas

4 min

La Liga, the Spanish league is one of the top leagues in Europe, immensely followed around the globe. The league has two top and famous football clubs around Europe. Real Madrid and Barcelona are in to a nail biting finish with one game to go in the league. Real Madrid are three points clear after their win over Celta Vigo. Barcelona can win the title only if Real looses their last game against Malaga.

Real Madrid against Barcelona, a fixture well known as the ‘El Classico’ brings a never ending rivalry no matter what stage it is, domestic or a European night clash, the two Spanish giants have always been parallel.

The last few games have been quiet intense for both sides. One has to say that Real’s manager, Zidane has managed his side pretty well. It is not easy at all to win the last few fixtures left in the league, considering a team like FC Barcelona chasing you and a European Final waiting for you against the mighty Juventus.

Barcelona have had their ups and down during the season. After their exit from the Champions league, Barcelona are striving hard to clinch the league title. They are also in the cup final.

Last week, a mind-boggling performance from the Brazilian Neymar Jr, saw Luis Enrique’s side at the top of the table. Real, on the other hand were also not dropping any points which has now made things more difficult for Barcelona.

But how can Zizou’s side let go the La Liga?

Last night against Celta Vigo, a brace from Ronaldo, strikes from Karim Benzema and Toni kroos tendered whites towards victory away from home. This will be disappointing for Lionel Messi and his team as they now have to win their game and hope for Madrid to loose away against Malaga FC.

But anything is possible in Football!

It was 2012, last day of the season in EPL and his name was Sergio Aguero. Who can forget his last minute winner to deny rivals Manchester United the title. Aguero delivered a moment for Manchester city fans which they will never ever forget, no matter how successful they would be in the coming era.

Let us also not forget the clash between PSG and FC Barcelona earlier during the Last-16 round.

It has all gone down to the wire, if Real Madrid losses against Malaga and FC Barcelona ends up bagging 3 points in the final show down against SD Eibar, than Barcelona will lift the trophy. The only comparative advantage to Barcelona is hosting the last fixture while Madrid would rely on their away performance against Celta.

For Zidane’s men it is mandatory to win or draw against Malaga to secure the La liga title, but again it is magical game where dreams are shattered and legends are made.
