Luban Cyclone Might Impact Balochistan and Karachi, PMD Issued Warning

Pakistan Meteorological Department PMD announced the thread of Luban cyclone impact on Balochistan and Karachi as the tropical storm getting stronger in the Arabian Sea.

A tropical cyclone formed in the Arabian Sea has been over 1000 kilometres distance from Karachi and the situation will become clear in next 48 hours, said the meteorological department.

According to PMD, in six hours a deep depression over the south-east of Arabian Sea has diverted west-north-westwards with a speed of about 11 KT. On Sunday it has positioned over east-central along with the southeast Arabian Sea, near latitude 12.1°n and longitude 64.3°e, about 664 nm east-southeast of Salalah, 610 nm east-southeast of Socotra islands and 567 nm west-northwest of Minicoy.

The Cyclone Luban probably strengthen into a cyclonic storm in next 24 hours and most probably turn into a more severe cyclonic storm during the following 24 hours.

The Luban is expected to move west-north-westwards towards and south Oman & Yemen coast at the end of this week.

As per the reports of PMD the coastline area of Pakistan are most likely to impact with the cyclone including Gwadar, Ormara and Pasni. Karachi might also get affected and likely to have heavy wind and rainfall.
