The Minister of Health, Wellness and Social Servies of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Cassanni Laville, on Friday has paid a visit at the New Marigot Hospital. The visit of the Minister Laville came ahead of the official commissioning which was planned for the forthcoming month.
It is to be noted that, the details and the glimpses of the visit of the Dominica Minister Laville were shared by the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, over his official social media handle, adding that, “The Minister for Health, Wellness and Social Services, Honourable Cassanni Laville, led a tour of the new Marigot Hospital on Friday, ahead of the official commissioning planned for next month.”
During the official visit at the New Marigot Hospital, Minister Laville has extended gratitude to the local residents for their patience. Moreover, during the visit, he also has given detailed information on the plans for the phased opening of the facility, along with the services.
Noting to which, PM Skerrit, in his official social media post, added that, “Laville thanked residents for their patience and provided a detailed update on plans for the phased opening of the facility, as well as the array of health services which will be available.”
It is to be specifically mentioned that, the 40,000 square feet two-floor hospital will have a 75-bed capacity, along with the wide range of essential services and modern state-of-art facilities.
Moreover, the list of the services that will be provided at the New Marigot Hospital includes, Ambulatory Services, Emergency care, ICU, Maternity and pediatric care, trauma center along with the radiology services.
At the same time, the Minister of State in the Health Ministry of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Cassandra Williams; Parliamentary Representative of the Marigot Constituency, Anthony Charles; Parliamentary Secretary, Kent Edwards; Chairperson of the Marigot Village Council, Michael Pascal; Senators Delbert Paris and Lorraine Henderson-Reid; and senior health officials were part of the tour.
