Pak-Afghan Border remains closed

On Sunday Pakistan closed the friendship gate with Afghanistan. While the Pakistani border guards were busy in fencing the border town Sakan Kanar.

The Afghani guards exchange some harsh words with the Pakistani soldiers. They tried to stop Pakistani forces from building a fence. Soon after, that fight changed into a battle by opening a fire. The exchange of fire continued for 5 hours.

Pakistan started fencing the border to reduce the terrorism rate. And stop Afghanis from smuggling and illegal activities on the border.

After the incident, the Pak-Afghan friendship gate is closed. Suspending many trade activities and NATO supplies to Afghanistan. And left Pakistani soldiers dead and many injured.

Before this, one more incident happened. Many Afghan nationals on their 97th independence day gathered near the friendship gate. They had banners and placards with Anti-Pakistan slogans. Afghan protestors also throw stones at the gate. Moreover, they snatched the Pakistani flag from Pakistani protestor and set it on fire.

However, the border closed indefinitely. The security forces addressed that they will not open the gate without the command of higher authority. Due to this closure, 10,000 to 15000 traders are affected. The security at borders is heightened.

The flag meeting of Afghanistan and Pakistan ended up with no decision. Whereas the border remains closed.
