As Pakistan entered the auspicious month of Ramadan, the first night served a stark reminder that, we are yet to cage our evil of loadshedding.
A massive outbreak was reported in several cities – such as Karachi and Lahore.
Dwellers were forced to prepare and eat Sehri in their dark homes – only lit by candles.

While some took to humor to voice out their frustration, some tweeted obscenities at Karachi Electric for the abrupt load shedding.
In the biggest city of the country, power outbreak was reported in several areas
Load shedding affected different areas of Karachi, including, Korangi, Landhi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Garden, Liaquatabad, North Karachi, Surjani Town, and F.B. Area.
A spokesperson from Karachi Electric denied any such accusations and termed the incidents as ‘local faults’, claiming KE was not involved in load shedding in any part of the city.
To make matters worse, the weather has also taken a turn for worse due to the lack of sea breeze.
Temperatures are set to soar as Karachi prepares for Ramadan, with the MET Pakistan Meteorological (Met) Department predicting a high of 38-40 degree Celsius in the first week.
