PEMRA bans “Naked and Afraid” Show on The Discovery Channel

“Naked and Afraid”

Discovery Channel started a new reality show “Naked and Afraid” which got banned by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA)  for its ‘highly obscene and vulgar content.’

PEMRA said that the authority had to take an action and banned the show after receiving several complaints from the public. And finally, a notice has been issued to the One World Alliance Pvt. Ltd. the distribution rights and marketing of the channel in Pakistan.

 

Moving on, the notice says that the content of the reality show has vulgar content and ‘in violation of the laws of land and customs of Islamic society.’

“The programme titled “Naked and Afraid” aired by M/s One World Alliance Pvt. Ltd. (Discovery) is hereby prohibited under Section 27 of PEMRA (Amendment) Act 2007 and 2018 with immediate effect,” the two-page notice mentions.
