The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, on Friday has extended gratitude to all those who came ahead in an order to make their homeland ready for any eventuality during the passing of the tropical storm Bret. It is to be noted that Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, took it to his official social media handle to share the update among the general audience.
While sharing the video through his official social media handle, PM Skerrit noted that, “I wish to thank all who rose to the occasion and ready the country for any eventuality with the passing of Tropical Storm Brett.”
He further made an appeal to the people as well as the residents to remain ready and vigilant as the forecasts are predicting and are navigating the 2023 hurricane season. At the same time, PM Skerrit, in his appeal added that, “I wish to appeal to all citizens and residents to not drop your guard and remain at ready for the weeks and months to come as we navigate the 2023 hurricane season. Let’s honour the God in this season. God Bless.”
It is to be noted that, during the recently held press conference, PM Skerrit has also mentioned about the opening of the shelter facility, which he announced were activated by the mid of Thursday. He also asked people to remain in the state of preparedness and to use the time in finalizing the arrangements.
During the address, he also shared contact details of the shelter managers, who are currently operating from the different communities, in an order to help people. He also added that the government has transported the people from the Bataka community in Kalinago territory to the Salybia primary school, adding that, “What the government of Dominica has been doing is a part of responsibility as a government is to ensure that every community must have access to shelter.”
