Pakistan cricket team has recently reached the number 1 position in the international T20 rankings. We take a look at the journey of Sarfaraz and his men’s to the top of the mountain.
Sarfaraz Ahmed was born on 22 May 1987. He was the captain of the U-19 side who beaten India in the U-19 world cup final in 2006. He made his international debut on 18 November 2007. He made his test debut in Hobart against Australia on 14 January 2010.
After a terrible T20 world cup in 2016 in captaincy of “Shahid Afridi” Pakistan cricket board named a new captain “Sarfaraz Ahmed”, of the national side in the shortest format of the game on 5 April 2016.
He is a young and energetic captain his first match was in England when he won the only T20 international against England by nine wickets. After that Pakistan team defeated the current t20 champions West Indies in a three match series and whitewashed the win-dies. This was the first whitewash by the Pakistan team in a three match series in T20 internationals he is the second captain to win 6 consecutive T20 matches.
His main weapons of winning are some youngsters, who are performing consistently like Hasan ali, Shadab Khan and Babar Azam.
Hasan Ali is the most trustworthy bowler of Sarfaraz’ squad. He is also the leading wicket taker under captaincy of Sarfaraz. Whenever he needed a wicket he brings in Hasan ali. Hasan was also the leading wicket taker in CT 2017.
Babar Azam is the leading run scorer for Pakistan this year in T20 format. His ability to handle the pressure and develop a inning is terrific.
His energetic and aggressive approach is one of the main reasons why Pakistan is the number one team in the T20 ranking right now. He has won 10 out of 12 matches he has played as a captain.
