The English premier league is to be the most competitive of them all. This time the challenge was massive. Top class managers in Pep Guardiola and Antonio Conte were stepping in for a first season in EPL. Although Jose was not new to the league, but a first season at Manchester United didn’t go as plan. No one was able to survive the impact of Conte, the ex- Juventus manager.
Chelsea’s start to the season was not impressive. The blues were written off to compete for the title after they lost 3-0 to Arsenal, early in the season, but it went on to be an extraordinary season for them.
Loosing 3-0 in half time against Arsenal, Conte didn’t think twice as he opted for his trendy back three. Chelsea lost the game, but no goals were leaked further. A similar formation against Hull City in the following week affirmed Antonio Conte’s tactics for the rest of the season. Chelsea never looked back and what followed was a championship side display since then.
The major signing of N’Golo Kanté from the former champions Leiscter FC was indeed Conte’s best move in the summer market.
A perfectly balance squad, with three center backs, two wing backs, two holding midfielders in Kante and Matic with the attacking threat of Hazard, Pedro, Willian and Costa was good enough to clinch the title. They trophy presentation was much awaited at Stamford bridge on Sunday afternoon after trashing a relegated Sunderland 5-1.
Chelsea’s title also ensured a remarkable farewell for their Captain, Leader and Legend. John Terry lifted his 5th premiere league title alongside Gary Cahill as he bows out of the game. A fairy tale season for the blues.
Arsenal FC fails to secure a top 4 spot after almost 20 years. Spurs forward, Harry Kane became the top scorer in the league with 29 strikes.

The closing weeks of the league saw Barcelona at the top of the table, having being knocked out in Champions League. Real were behind them with a game in hand. With every win for Real, Barcelona were not loosing hope and kept winning their games. Real were in a must win situation in their last game against Malaga. Goal a piece from the main man Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner up front Karim Benzema, were enough to secure the title.
Despite the pressure and critics, Zidane has managed to list himself as a successful manager for the club. Zidane and his men are now hoping to win back to back Champions League. Real Madrid will defend their title against Juventus on Saturday, 3rd June.

Juventus has been dominating the Italian league for a number of seasons now as they went on to win their sixth consecutive league title this season. Juventus have also won the domestic cup along with the league.
One game week is still to be played in the Serie A, but this would not have an impact on the league. With one game to go AS Roma is four points behind now. Juventus will be now resting their players for the biggest game of the season to achieve a treble winning season.

Their veteran captain Phillip Lahm lifted their fifth consecutive league title, on Saturday as he retires from the game without ever receiving a red card in the game, being a defender. The veteran midfielder Xabi Alonso also calls it a day, winning it all in football just like Phillip.

First Ligue 1 Crown In 17 years: AS Monaco
AS Monaco showed their remarkable performance in the league as well as in Champions League. Reaching in the last four of champions league was a major achievement for them. Monaco scored more goals than any other team in Europe this season.
Monaco were competing with their rivals PSG through out the season. They were to play St Etienne for the title decider at the end of the season. They won the title following a 2-0 victory.
PSG after loosing a 4 goal lead at Nou camp which followed with their exit from Champions League, did loose a lot of motivation which is required until the end of the season. They lost their top spot in the league also, but managed to beat AS Monaco in Coupe de la Ligue and Coupe de France, finishing with two trophies for the season.
Kylian Mbape was a sensational talent to witness among all European leagues. Just less than 19 years of age, he becomes the youngest player in this century to score 15 times in a season.
