St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew visited the leading farmer in the federation known as Armstrong. The PM was invited to 25 by 25 Crop Commodities Meetings by the Department of Agriculture.
Considering the same, PM Drew extended his greetings, shared a post on his official social media handle and wrote, “Greetings, I took time out to visit Mr Armstrong, a leading farmer here in our Federation.”
With the aim of fulfilling the 25 by 25 agenda, the Prime Minister added, “We aim to fulfil the 25 by 25 agenda, where we want to cut food imports by 25% by the year 2025.”
PM said, “Our farmers are instrumental to achieving this goal.”
“Let’s work to strengthen our collaboration even more,” asked PM Drew.
Following the post many people responded positively. A person named Patrick Browne commented, “I never heard this farmer complain, yes he does just do what he has to do. Keep up the good work.”
Another person Clement Stapleton wrote, “That is great keep up the amazing work and keep doing your best, we are proud of you my PM.”
Viona Garnett praised the Prime Minister and wrote, “Proud of you PM Dr Drew, Keep up the good works.”
St Kitts and Nevis Department of Agriculture invited all crop farmers to a series of important meetings last week. The objective of the meeting was to focus on the selected 25 by 25 crop commodities.
Reportedly, the planters who grow sweet pepper and tomato are asked to attend the meeting on Wednesday, Feb 07, 2024. The farmers who grow watermelon and cantaloupe are asked to attend the meeting a day later on Thursday, Feb 08, 2024.
As per the sources, the meetings are scheduled to be held in the Large Conference Room at the Department of Agriculture of St Kitts and Nevis, which will begin at 5:00 p.m. every day.
Also, St Kitts Agriculture Open Day 2024 is around the corner. The registrations for the same has been opened which will close on Friday Feb 16, 2024.
Notably, all vendors and members of the public who are interested in participating at the edition of the year 2024 of the Agriculture Open Day in St Kitts can make their registration.
The Agriculture Open Day 2024 is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources. The event will be held for two continuous days, Thursday, April 25, 2024 and Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Royal Basseterre Valley National Park.
The theme for Open Day 2024 is ‘Securing Our Future Through Sustainable Agriculture by 2025 and Beyond.’
