Karachi Eat Food Festival is around the corner. Why should we be excited about it?Because all these factors will surely make it the best food festival of the year:
1- The Food
With 95 stalls this time, it’s going to be even more fantastic this year! The food choices will range from Desi to non-Desi, fine dining to street food, mouthwatering snacks to desserts, and established food brands to very new ones! (Be prepared to have too many options left at the end of your appetite, lol)
2- The Perfect Timing
The weather is lovely and it will be a weekend.
The timings are:
Friday, 13th January – 4 p.m. to 11.30 p.m.
Saturday, 14th and Sunday, 15th January – 12 p.m. onwards.
Due to the continuous rainfall which started on Friday, the 13th of January, this festival has been postponed and the new dates and timings are as follows:
Friday, 20th January – 4.30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday, 21st January – 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday, 22nd January – 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
3- The Affordability
The entrance ticket is just for Rs. 250 per head (excluding kids under 2 and senior citizens aged more than 60).
The organizers have also ensured that the price of a dish does not exceed Rs 300 per plate. This means that you can try out more awesome food with the same amount of money (yay!).
Also, those who will use the SimSimWallet app for the food payments will get 30% to 40% discount on their food.
4- The Conveyance Facilities
Arrangements to control the traffic at the entrance, promote pedestrianism and (maybe) a shuttle service running between the Musical Fountain and Marriott hotel, and the another one between Avari Towers and Cantt Station will make things much easier.
Also, Careem and Uber cab service will be available, with Careem offering a special flat rate of Rs 250 only!
5- The Additional Entertainment
There will be live musical performances by currently popular musicians including Zoe Viccaji, Sara Haider, Jimmy Khan, Sounds of Kolachi and Fuzon, food competitions/contests, fun activities for kids and opportunities to meet celebrities (chefs, artists etc) and restaurant owners.
6- It Is Family-Friendly
In a safe, leisurely environment with the backdrop of the picturesque Frere Hall, this will be a great event to have a nice family/friends meet up. Good security arrangements including the rule that single/groups of boys are not allowed means that you can actually stay calm and just eat.
Do drop by and do your taste buds a huge favour!
