The left arm pacer from FATA, Usman Khan has made a huge impact on world cricket since his debut.
He single handed sent back half of the Sri Lankan team in the first 3.2 over’s of his spell. He took 5 wickets in mere 3.2 overs to wrap up the Islanders.
Usman was born on 1 may 199 in Khyber Agency,FATA. He has proved himself in the PSL playing for Karachi Kings. He currently plays in the Quaid e Azam trophy for Zarai Taraqiati Bank.
It took 3.1 over’s for him in 2013 final to complete a five-wicket haul. That included Misbah’s wicket in an all important final.
He took wickets of player’s like the Sri Lankan captain Upul Tharanga, Chandimal and Niroshan Dickwella in the last ODI at Sharjah.
Selectors opted him on basis of his domestic performance for the T20 series against Sri Lanka in 2013-14. He was given only one over in his debut game versus Sri Lanka at the DSC after it went for 9 runs. He was given his full quota of 4 over’s in the next T20 and went for 52 runs. He also scored 2* off 3 balls.
Azhar Mahmood, Pakistan’s bowling coach appreciated his efforts, saying Sri Lanka had been “destroyed” by Pakistan’s bowling.
“They are not a weak team,” he said. “They won the Test series. You can see they were destroyed by our bowling. We outplayed them with our bowling. Amir was not in this series but Usman Shinwari came and conquered it. We have bowlers who can outplay the opponents. Usman did it here with five wickets.
