The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, Moulavi Amir Khan Motaghi along with the administrative deputies and a number of heads of the foreign ministry held a meeting with the delegation headed by Pakistani Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hina Rabbani Khar, along with other officials including, Mohammad Sadiq Khan, Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan and Obaidur Rahman Nizamani, the charge d’affaires of the Pakistani embassy in the capital city of Kabul.
While welcoming the delegation, Minister Motaghi called the relations between the two neighbouring countries beneficial to the people and the region. Motaghi further added about the release of Afghan prisoners in Pakistan, making it easier for passengers to travel between the two countries.
During the meeting, he also reminded the Pakistani delegation to accelerate trade and transit.
He also expressed his readiness for the start of TAPI, TAP, railway and other big projects and stated the position of the Islamic Emirate regarding political relations, economic growth and security.
He further promised cooperation, ways of commuting, and solving problems related to visa and added that he would take necessary steps in order to strengthen and develop trade and transit with Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Hana Rabbani Khar said that, “since Afghanistan and Pakistan are two neighbouring Muslim countries and have cultural commonalities, therefore the governments. The two countries should cooperate with each other and protect mutual common interests.”
In this meeting, it was agreed to create new mechanisms for bilateral cooperation, so that all opportunities and common issues can be evaluated through dialogue and for the progress of the work.
At the end of the meeting, both sides pledged to take useful and positive steps in the future and solve problems.
