The Commonwealth of Dominica is ranked high among the 25 best islands all over the world, according to a survey conducted by Travel + Leisure Magazine. The island country was ranked eighth in the annual survey.
Travel and Leisure Magazine has ranked the Commonwealth of Dominica, an island country in the Caribbean Region, eighth (8th) among the twenty-five (25) best islands, across the globe. The rankings came about as a result of a survey conducted by the luxury lifestyle magazine.
The Travel + Leisure magazine conducts this survey every year, asking its readers to weigh in on their travel experiences to places from around the globe. The readers are invited to share their opinions on which, according to them, are the top cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, and airlines. The readership of the luxury and lifestyle magazine rates these islands scattered across the globe, according to the activities and sights, natural attractions and beaches, food, friendliness, and overall value.
In the opinion of the avid readers of Travel + Leisure Magazine, the best islands in the world promise much more than aquamarine waters, dramatic coastlines, and pristine beaches; according to them, the experience which puts an island at the top of their list must be all around excellent, and worth every second, and every penny spent on its shores.
The Commonwealth of Dominica, the nation which is rightfully known as the Nature Isle of the Caribbean, situated itself at the eighth spot in the survey for a wide plethora of reasons, including its lush green jungles, striking black-sand beaches and natural hot springs.
Dominica scored 91 points in the survey, and managed to surpass 17 other island countries, to land at the eighth spot.
The island offers its tourists relaxation, seclusion, and eco-adventures set against a backdrop of the most beautiful beaches and rainforests.
