The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy hosted the Dominica Geothermal Global Partners Conference earlier this week. It is to be noted that, the theme for the conference was “Enabling Dominica’s Transition and 100% Renewable Energy before 2030.”
The details about the above mentioned has been shared by the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, has shared the details about the above mentioned through his official social media handle, adding that, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy hosted the Dominica Geothermal Global Partners Conference earlier this week under the theme “Enabling Dominica’s Transition and 100% Renewable Energy before 2030.”
It is to be specifically mentioned that, the representatives of the United Nations (UN), World Bank, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRINA) along with the United States, during the meeting, have reaffirmed the support for the geothermal energy project within the Commonwealth of Dominica.
Notably, the details about the above mentioned has also been shared by the Prime Minister of Dominica via his official social media handle. It is to be added that, the entire meeting revolved around the talks and discussions mainly on the geothermal energy project of the island.
At the same time, during the visit to the island state of Dominica, the participants have also paid visit at the geothermal energy site in Laudat and the Sugar Loaf Power Station in the Portsmouth. It is also added by the Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit via his official social media handle.
Moreover, as per the details shared by the leader of the island state, PM Roosevelt Skerrit, added that, “n the past year the Government of Dominica drilled two additional wells required to operate the planned 10MW power plant in Laudat. A new high capacity transmission network is also on the cards for construction.”
