St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew, attended the Joint Security Meeting with the High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) and St Kitts and Nevis Defence Force, as well as the National Security Advisor, Major General Stewart Saunders on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
During the meeting, PM Terrance Drew put a major focus on the safety and security of St Kitts and Nevis and its people. He stated that the government of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party is committed to ensuring public safety and security as this is their prime goal of development. He said, “The safety and security of our nation are of paramount importance.”
The meeting also featured productive discussions on recent homicides in the Federation and outlined ways to improve the efforts taken out by the government to hold peace and harmony in the society. He stated that his administration is planned to adopt strategic measures to combat such violent incidents in the island nation.
Earlier, the High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, led by Commissioner James Sutton, held a press conference this afternoon to update the general public on measures and strategies being implemented by the law enforcement body to ensure the safety and security of citizens and residents.
The press conference outlined the ways and innovative ideas that should be adopted by the law enforcement body to make peace and security in the country.
The press conference was convened at the Police Training Complex. The Government of St Kitts and Nevis continues to work diligently to ensure that the security agencies maintain a zero-tolerance approach to crime, focusing on the preservation of law and order within the Federation.
Earlier, Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr Terrance Drew also visited the Ophthalmic Unit at the Joseph N. France General Hospital today (Monday, 27th March, 2023) where he inspected several new pieces of equipment that were procured by the Government.
