The Member of Parliament for the Castries South and Member of the Cabinet, Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Ernest Hilaire on Wednsday added details following the launching of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festivals.
Noting to which, Deputy PM, Ernest Hilaire mentioned that, “Last evening we formally launched the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival to the media and Saint Lucians.”
He noted that, ” On this 30th anniversary of the music festival and its return to it’s original concept, with a renewed look and feel, I am proud to say the launch was a resounding success.”
The festival basically provides a platform to the creative talented people of the island nation of Saint Lucia on the musical as well as artisitic fronts.
In reference to which, Deputy PM Hilaire added that, “The festival showcases the creative talents of our people both on the musical and artistic fronts.”
He further announced about the introduction of a new concept, on which he added that, “This year, we will introduce a new concept, Art & The City, which will express our culture through artistic expression and bring the festival into different areas of the city centre.”
In addition, the festival will be going to accrue multiple economic benefits for Saint Lucia people with taxi drivers being employed. The following information has been shared by the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia. He added that, “The festival will accrue several economic benefits for Saint Lucians with taxi drivers being employed, villas and hotel rooms being booked, visitors going to local bars and restaurants and many more supporting activities being employed. We will also bring the Jazz festival back into the communities to help Saint Lucians own more of the festival.”
At the same time, Hilaire added that, “We are excited to see the return of Jazz with it’s star studded lineup. This year promises to big one!”
