The government of Saint Lucia on Friday has made an announcement of the partnership between the Export Saint Lucia along with the Ministry of Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives as well as Consumer Affairs to host Laplas Nwel, which will take place on December 17, at Constitution Park, Castries.
Laplas Nwel is a Christmas market where over thirty-five small businesses will offer a high-quality, locally manufactured items for sale. The one day event will provide micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) an opportunity to introduce the public to some of the high-quality products, produced on the island.
Export Saint Lucia, which is responsible for promoting Saint Lucian products in the export market, views Laplas Nwel as a way to boost the local economy.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of the Export Saint Lucia, Sunita Daniel shares that, “Export Saint Lucia is thrilled that we can provide this timely chance for small businesses to earn additional revenue this Christmas. We regularly interact with MSMEs who manufacture exceptional products. We are excited for them to share their authentic Saint Lucian products with a wider customer base. In fact, these products including beauty as well as wellness products, food and beverage, & clothing along with accessories, will make perfect Christmas gifts for friends and family!”
At the same time, Minister of Commerce, Emma Hippolyte noted that, “My ministry is pleased to partner along with Export Saint Lucia. We value the role that MSMEs play in the local economy as well as consider Laplas Nwel as an avenue for increased trade and productivity among entrepreneurs of Saint Lucia.”
Export Saint Lucia invited Saint Lucians to support these micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) at Laplas Nwèl in Constitution Park on December 17 from 8 am to 4 pm.
