During the address, Dr Drew mentioned that, “Access to quality healthcare is crucial in addressing health inequalities and reducing disparities in health. The overall health and wellbeing of our citizens are of paramount importance.”

Moreover, Dr Drew has also ensured the key factor of deep cleaning being done at Cardio Home for improving the overall aesthetics. Noting to which, he said that, “It is the intention of the government to provide the necessary support required to better the conditions for elderly and healthcare professionals who are at the Cardio Home.”

He further highlighted that, “This week, 10 new Elderly care assistants were employed at the current home supplying the required human resource to properly cater to our elderly. The assistants recently completed their certification course at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College. Deep cleaning is being done to improve the aesthetics of the venue and efforts are being made to make further infrastructural changes.”

At the same time, PM Drew has referred to another major issue, adding that, “The government of St Kitts and Nevis is also actively seeking a site for the new JNF General hospital.”

He said that, “The government believe that the modern and fully equipped hospital with efficient trained staff is long overdue. We are seeking to construct a smart hospital. This is a necessity not a choice.”
