The Minister of Housing and the Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central Constituency, Melissa Poponne Skerrit, has shared the details about the decision to begin Ti-Vilaj Kweyol- Tout Biten Domnikon on October 24, 2023.

It is to be added that, the Ti-Vilaj Kweyol was set to begin October 23, 2023 to October 26, 2023. But as the threat of the Tropical Storm Tammy continues to rise, the government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, has reconsidered the idea to host the event and rescheduled the date to October 24, 2023.

Minister of Housing, Melissa Skerrit took it to her official social media handle, to share the update among the general audience, adding that, “Due to the effects of Hurricane Tammy, a decision has been taken to begin Ti-Vilaj Kweyol- Tout Biten Domnik on Tuesday 24th October 2023.”

Along with this, she clearly stated that the event will end on the date, which was as per scheduled earlier on October 26, 2023, but she also considered one fact to extend the hours that ensures to take care of the audience. Noting to which, she mentioned that, “The event will end on Thursday 26th October as scheduled, however, the hours will be extended to ensure that the sponsors, vendors and the patrons get to enjoy the TVK experience to the fullest.”

She said, “We look forward to the support and patronage of the public as we celebrate an explosion of our unique Creole culture through music, dance, produce, food, and fashion at Ti-Vilaj Kwéyòl – Tout Biten Domnik from Tuesday, 24 October to Thursday 26 October 2023”.

During the second edition of Ti Vilaj Kweyol 2023, over 60 micro and small businesses will have an opportunity to demonstrate their skills, talent and innovative products. The four-day event cut to three days is an integral part of the Dominica 2023 Independence season events.

The primary objective of this event is to create a lively venue to represent the cultural traditions of Dominica, including art, dance, music, fashion, agriculture, food and beverage products to give locals and visitors a place to unwind and socialise during the day.
