The Office of the Disaster Management of the Commonwealth of Dominica has released a weather alert for the upcoming week. In the alert they have released an advisory to the people to remain vigilant and alert during the upcoming week.
It is to be noted that, in the message released for the public, the Disaster Management office has assured that, the National Hurricane Centre and the Dominica Meteorological Service is keeping a check over the Eastern Tropical Atlantic side.
As it is also expected that, the area of the low pressure has more number of chances to turn into a tropical storm during the weekend.
Alongside the message of the alert, the Disaster Management Office of the Commonwealth of Dominica has further released an advise, asking relief teams about their plans of preparation and to ensure that are completely activated for the safety and protection of the people against the storm.
In the advisory message released, they have also advised public to keep a regular check on the weather during this upcoming week of festive activities. They also asked them to plan after checking the weather forecast.
At the same time, they have also released the name of the website where the general public of the island can have access to update about the weather information. Noting to the advisory, the Disaster Management Office of Dominica, stated that, “Residents should keep updated on the weather situation and any caution information provided by the Office of Disaster Management and the Dominica Meteorological Service. Information can be accessed at the www. weather.gov.dm for up-to-date weather information and www.odm.gov.dm to learn what actions to take during flood and landslide events and be alert during times of heavy rainfall.”
Moreover, they also asked people to remain vigilant and alert during the coming week and also asked them to remain at the standby position to ensure their safety.
