Saint Lucia: The Government of Saint Lucia cleared the payments of three thousand one hundred and five pensioners on November 24, 2023. According to the promise made by the officials, the recipients will receive a one-time payment of $600.
As per the sources, the pensioners will gain this money with their monthly pensions. As the government mentioned, the receivers will get a total amount of $1.863 million.
As per the information, the pay will be directly pumped into the local economy through the relief effort. Earlier also, a one-time payment of amount $500 was granted in the year 2022.
Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Philip J. Pierre has informed about the news through his social media handle. He mentioned that the government has started discussing about the same.
The officials have decided to increase the monthly pensions of the citizens who are eligible, as per the norms. The government officials have made a decision to add a raise of 4.2% to the pension amount.
The increase in the amount will be provided to the pensioners under the supervision of the National Insurance Company. PM Pierre mentioned that the administration will stick to its decision and will continue to provide relief to the citizens.
The citizens of Saint Lucia are already struggling with numerous imported inflation and external shocks. These problems are the real reasons that are affecting the people.
