In a series of search and strike operations, Hayatabad Circle Police has cracked down on criminal elements, which are mostly involved in the street crimes. The police team, during the operation, has arrested over four suspects who are part of two different gangs, which are involved in mobile snatching.
While addressing the media about the arrests, Hayatabad Circle Police said that, “Out of the four accused, Police have sent one of the accused to jail, whereas one of the accused belongs to the neighbouring nation of Afghanistan, while two accused are residents of Peshawar.
Revealing the real identities of the accused, Police said that, IT experts are also among the accused.
Police has revealed in the address, adding that, “The accused used to smuggle the valuable mobiles phones abroad after snatching them from citizens at gunpoint. Similarly, after changing the IMEI numbers of some mobile phones, they also sold them in the local market.
During the preliminary investigation, the accused have made sensational revelations, which added that, “The accused also used to open fire on civilians who opposes. A few days ago as well, the accused had also opened fire on the civilian and also injured him for opposing.”
The accused have confessed to several incidents in different areas of Hayatabad, Town, Bhana Mari and Cantt Division.
During the investigation, police teams have also recovered 25 valuable mobile phones, two laptops, stolen cash amounting to 260,000 rupees.
Police has also recovered the weapons used in the above-mentioned incidents. Meanwhile, ASP Hayatabad, Dr Muhammad Umar said that, “More important revelations are expected from the accused.”
ASP Umar added that, “Police team has made a special plan of action against the criminal elements. There will be no compromise in safety and security of the civilians of the state.”
Police has also ensured to continue to curb the ongoing crime rate across the state.
