St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has arrived safely in St Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday, Mar 01, 2024 for the eighth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
PM Drew informed about his safe arrival by sharing the photographs from the St Vincent and the Grenadines. Along with the shared photographs he wrote, “We arrived safely yesterday in St Vincent and the Grenadines for the VIII Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
CELAC is a two-day Summit that began on Mar 01 and will end today on Mar 02, 2024 at the Sandals Resort at Buccament.
Prime Minister Drew was accompanied by the delegates of St Kitts and Nevis to the St Vincent and the Grenadines. The delegates included the Senior Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs – Denzil Douglas, Ambassador – Larry Vaughan, Press Secretary – Adelcia Connor-Ferlance and the Foreign Service Officer – Jamella Davis.
CELAC is an intergovernmental platform that exchanges dialogues and political consensus, comprised of a membership of thirty-two nations across Latin America and the Caribbean.
CELAC works as a regional forum and aims to unify all countries in the Latin American and Caribbean regions. It aspires to represent a distinctive voice and establish structured mechanisms for policy-making in politics and cooperation to bolster regional integration initiatives.
CELAC was founded dedicatedly to promote the incremental advancement of regional integration and unity. It is the delicate equilibrium of political, economic, social and cultural diversities inherent in Latin America and the Caribbean.
CELAC embodies the commitment to foster the collaboration and mutual understanding among its member states.
The CELAC Summit will be led by the ministers which will include Dr Ralph E. Gonsalves, Prime Minister and Pro Tempore President of CELAC Keisal M. Peters, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Dr Dougals W. Slater, National Coordinator and Head of the CELAC Presidential Secretariat.
The Summit will begin with an official opening ceremony, then followed by the plenary sessions and will be concluded with a media briefing.
