The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew has jump started his engagements ahead of the official beginning of the 45th Regular Meeting of the Conference of the Heads of the Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
It is to be noted that, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew held bilateral discussions with the Ambassador of Singapore to CARICOM, Karen Tan. The discussions encompassed the common interests of both the states and the desire to broaden and empowering the existing ties.
In addition to this, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew held meeting with Ambassador of Japan, Yukata Matsubara. Moreover, the Japanese Ambassador Matsubara used the opportunity to update Prime Minister Dr Drew on the ongoing implications of the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster that has taken place over 12 years ago.
Considerably, during both the meetings, Prime Minister of the Twin Island Federation, Dr Terrance Drew has upheld the commitment to bolstering and empowering the respective diplomatic ties. In addition to this, he was able to articulate the thrust of the Government to propel St Kitts and Nevis into becoming the first Sustainable Island State within the region. By doing this, he mentioned about the necessity of partnerships and cooperation to achieve the tenets of the energy transition, digital transformation, water management and food security.
The Opening Ceremony of the 45th Regular Meeting of the Conference of the Heads of the Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is likely to be at 4:30 pm on Monday, July 3, 2023.
