The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, on Thursday, September 14, left the state to take part in the Group of 77 plus China (G77+China) Summit. It is to be noted that the summit will be taking place in the capital city of Havana in Cuba.
The information about the participation of Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit in the G77+China Summit has been shared by the Government of Commonwealth of Dominica on Thursday. It is to be added that the Summit will take place from September 15, 2023 to September 16, 2023.
The theme for the Summit will be “The Current Challenges of Development- Role of Science, Technology and Innovation.”
During the Summit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, will be joining other global leaders to talk about the ongoing issues that the G77+China Summit group countries are facing. The major topic of concern during the meeting will circulate around the challenges, that the group of nations are facing and following this, they will also look for the common solutions to the issues.
It is also anticipated that the Summit is already set to issue a final declaration which will be going to highlight the purposes and principles of the bloc and addresses the major arising needs of the developing nations.
The delegation from the Commonwealth of Dominica to the G77+China Summit includes, the Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Rural Modernisation, Kalinago Upliftment and Constituency Empowerment and the Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica to Cuba, Ian Douglas.
It is to be specifically mentioned that, during the absence of Prime Minister, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit from the nation, the Minister of Finance, Economic Development, Climate Resilience and Social Security, Dr Irving McIntyre will be the acting Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
