The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit has extended prayers over the devastation caused by the earthquake in Morocco. It is to be noted that the earthquake across Morocco has claimed over 1000 lives.
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit took it to his official social media handle to express the sorrow and prayers to the family and loved ones of those who has lost their homes and family members in this natural calamity.
It is to be specifically mentioned that the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, while expressing the grief over the loss of lives, said that, “We pray for Morocco following the devastating earthquake which has claimed the lives of over 1000.”
While expressing sorrow on behalf of the government as well as people of Dominica, PM Roosevelt Skerrit, added that, “On behalf of the Government and people of Dominica I express deep sympathies to King Mohammed VI, the grieving families and the people of Morocco. May God grant healing to the many injured.”
Notably, Morocco has always been a close fried to the Caribbean island nation of Dominica. It is also mentioned by Prime Minister, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, through his social media post. Noting to which, he said that, “Morocco has been a good friend to Dominica and we pledge our solidarity in this difficult time.”
Considerably, the death toll after the earthquake continues to spike and the rescuers are working hard in order to save people in the isolated regions and communities in the High Atlas mountains, with the aid deliveries hampered by the blocked roads.
Moreover, they have also set up tents in some of the areas, while many people are responding to the calls to donate blood. Some of the areas across Morocco has been severely hit by the earthquake, with some estimates putting the number of people affected in the Marrakesh area as high as 300,000.
