The Interior Minister of Pakistan, Rana Sanaullah, on Wednesday has criticised former Prime Minister Imran Khan-led government and said that it had ruined four years of the nation.
During the Eid Milan party in Faisalabad, Sanaullah addressed that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf has tried to play havoc with the economy via most unstable and every day changing tax policies, which plunged the nation into the trap of inflation, as per reports.
The Interior Minister added that PTI only tried to draw a false picture and made fake promises which have proved a complete failure. The overall burden of foreign loans is continuously becoming unbearable only due to the ill-conceived policies of the PTI.
In a recent report published by the World Bank,’ Pakistan Development Update’, the structural weaknesses of Pakistan’s economy have been highlighted, which include low investment, low exports, and a low productivity growth cycle. Further, high domestic demand pressures and rising global commodity rates would lead to a double-digit inflation in the nation.
Moreover, the growth momentum is not expected to pick up in Pakistan in the near future as a sharp spike in the import bill would also impact the Pakistani Rupee adversely. The World Bank report cites the financial sector’s inadequacy as one of the reasons for this low growth.
