The Ministry of Health, Wellness, as well as Elderly Affairs, have made a public appeal about its two ongoing surveys, one on Universal Health Coverage & the other on the effects of global pandemic of COVID-19 on a diet, exercise along with non-communicable diseases.
The surveys are meant to collect information to help and assist the Ministry in developing policies and plans to serve the population better. The study on the effects of COVID-19 on a diet, exercise as well as non-communicable diseases, and hypertension is being conducted through telephone by a team of trained personnel.
Meanwhile, the survey on Universal Health Coverage will be conducted online & the link will be sent using text message, Zimbra email, or the Saint Lucian Government websites as well as social media pages.
The Government of Saint Lucia, during the address, has further alerted the people by stating that, “the Ministry of Health has not commissioned any in person or any face to face surveys.”
The Ministry highlighted that at no time should anyone visit your home or premises to conduct the above mentioned surveys on behalf of the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health has further advised the general public to remain vigilant and to participate in the ongoing surveys through the government authorised platforms. For the convenience of the general public, the Ministry has further added the contact details of the officers of the health department as well.
