Castries, Saint Lucia: Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Philip J. Pierre will participate in the first-ever Saudi Arabia – CARICOM Summit. He will be conjoined at the summit by his colleagues and heads of government.
PM Pierre will attend it under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman AI Saud. He was also present at the inauguration ceremony of the summit on November 16, 2023.
PM J. Pierre looks forward to continuing the work with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He primarily focuses on the reconstruction of St. Jude Hospital to enhance the medical facilities and the George Odlum Stadium to establish advanced features for the welfare of the citizens of Saint Lucia.
The Prime Minister arrived in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. There, he was received by the Deputy Governor of Riyadh region, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz and several other officials.
The PM contacted other regional leaders, including CARICOM Chairman Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
They will all be engaged in high-level talks with King Salman bin Abdulaziz AI Saud and Prime Minister and Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman during the one-day investment forum.
PM Philip Pierre departed for Riyadh from the V.C. Bird International Airport on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Pierre left the airport with the Prime Minister of Grenada – Dickon Mitchell, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Terrance Drew and Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda – Gaston Browne.
The Prime Minister will return to Saint Lucia on Saturday with other members. The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia sponsors the trip.
Pierre anticipates a successful first Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on November 16, 2023, with an Investment Forum on November 17, 2023.
