The Saint Lucia Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development and Innovation has recently made an announcement about the District Two Fun Walk. Along with the announcement about this year’s Walk, the Ministry added that, “The District Two Fun Walk has almost returned after a two-year break, and it has almost drawn over a thousand students who have danced and sang along as they made their way across the road system connecting Lance Road, Sans Souci, and Barnard Hill.”
The Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development and Innovation have further announced that the event of this year has almost attracted the participation of the Minister for Education, Shawn Edward was created around 14 years ago with the intention of encouraging students to adopt healthier lifestyles, so that they may have the best possible educational experience.
At the same time, the Saint Lucian Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development have further added that, “Nutritionists from the Ministry of Health were on hand to promote an ongoing campaign to get school children more knowledgeable on the choices of beverages to help in avoiding an overload of sugar, which over time can lead to metabolic illness.
Notably, the island nation of Saint Lucia has been recorded as having one of the highest rates of diabetes in the region, as well as indeed the world.
