The symptoms for COPD includes difficulty in breathing, cough, mucus (sputum) production as well as wheezing.
It’s basically caused by a long-term exposure to several irritating gases or particulate matter, most often because of the smoke of the cigarette. People with COPD are at major risk of developing heart disease, lung cancer as well as a variety of other conditions.
Moreover, the symptoms mostly do not appear until significant lungs damage has been observed, and they usually turn worse over time, specifically if smoking exposure continues.
The signs, as well as major symptoms of COPD, may include wheezing, shortness of breath, mostly while performing any physical or sports activities, tightness in the chest, a chronic cough that may result in producing mucus (sputum) that may be clear, white, yellow or green in colour, as well as frequent infections related to the respiratory system, with lack of energy. Whereas, in some cases, unintended weight loss is another symptom which could be seen in later stages. While swelling in ankles, feet or legs is one of the other main symptoms.
