The officials from the Canadian Government will be visiting the Commonwealth of Dominica from Monday, September 25 to Tuesday, September 26, 2023, for carrying out the biometric processing for persons, who are wishing to obtain the visas. The announcement about the following has been shared by the Government of Canada.
It is to be noted that as a part of the visa application process, people from the Commonwealth of Dominica must provide the biometric information, which is fingerprints as well as the photo, while applying for the visitor visa in Canada, study visa, work visa, or temporary residence permit or for permanent residence.
Along with this visit, standard procedures remain for the Commonwealth of Dominica nationals to travel to biometrics collection points in Barbados, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, or Trinidad and Tobago.
Meanwhile, the government, while asking people to complete their online visa application, said that, “If you are planning to travel to Canada for study, business, tourism, family reunions or other reasons, please complete your online visa application as soon as possible in order to take advantage of this opportunity in September. This exercise is geared towards the following individuals, which is as follows:
- Nationals of Dominica who are likely or are looking to travel to Canada
- People who have already applied whether online or by mail for a visa, work or study permit or for the permanent residence and have received their Biometric Instruction Letter, and,
- Nationals of other biometric details-required nations residing in the Commonwealth of Dominica planning to travel to Canada.

It is to be specifically mentioned that the Government of Canada, has issued the cut off date for the scheduling the appointment is Tuesday, September 19, 2023, and also said that there are limited number of appointments available for the two-day collection visit. The government of Canada has further added that they will not be able to accommodate appointment requests after the cut off date unless cancellations are received.
The biometrics collection will take place from 10:30 to 16:00 on Monday, September 25, and 08:30 to 16:00 on Tuesday, September 26 at the Fort Young Hotel, Victoria Street, Roseau.
