Deep Dominica’s Inaugural Free Diving Competition started with a bang on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. The event has been hosted by the Watersports Association of Dominica along with the Ministry of Tourism for building a focus on educating about the Scuba Diving for the tourism and a career and noting the rich and unique marine environment of Dominica.
It is to be noted that, overall 51 individuals are in Dominica for the thrilling competition, which includes 40 free divers, 20 of which are athletes, 4 judges, 6 members of the Safety Team, including a doctor, and a photographer who are specialized in underwater photography and video.
The following announcement has been made by the Ministry of Tourism by the Commonwealth of Dominica, via their official social media handle, adding that, “Deep Dominica’s Inaugural Free Diving Competition began with a bang on Wednesday, June 21, 2023! Currently, a total of 51 individuals are in #Dominica for this thrilling competition! 40 Free Divers, 20 of which are athletes, 4 Judges, 6 members of the Safety Team, including a doctor, and a photographer who specializes in underwater photography and video!”
Considerably, the Ministry of Tourism has made an announcement of the launching of the Dive Festival 2023. Noting to which, the authorities asked people to get ready for the incredible week of adventure, community engagement, and thrilling competitions from June 23 to July 2. Dominica has been aiming on making an even significant impact on the local communities, through the Community Tourism Initiatives.
It is to be specifically mentioned that, the Ministry of Tourism, via their social media post, added that, “The southwest of #Dominica is buzzing with excitement not only for the much anticipated #DiveFest2023 but the Free Diving Competition!”
