The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, on Sunday has expressed condolences to the family of the national athlete and cyclist of Dominica, Bram Sanderson. Cyclist Sanderson passed on Sunday morning following a traffic accident in Antigua.
It is to be noted that, the Prime Minister, of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit took it to his official social media handle to share the update about the demise of cyclist Sanderson. Prime Minister, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, on behalf of the people and the government of Dominica, said that, “The Government of Dominica expresses sincere condolences to the family of national athlete Bram Sanderson, who passed this morning following a traffic accident in Antigua.”
Considering the post shared by PM Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, Sanderson has represented Dominica as a cyclist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games; and in the sport of Kayaking. While sharing the note on the above mentioned, PM Skerrit, added that, “Sanderson represented Dominica as a cyclist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games; and in the sport of Kayaking. He was an all-round athlete who excelled in track and field and basketball.”
Along with this, Prime Minister, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, while extending the mourn over the loss of Bram Sanderson, added that, “We extend sympathies to the sporting fraternity and all who mourn his passing. We also wish speedy recovery to the second accident victim, a Dominican, who according to media reports, remains in critical condition at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center in Antigua.”
At the same time, the death of Sanderson has spread waves of sorrow across all the sports industry. Even, Dominica Olympic Committee, took it to their social media handle, to share a note on the death of Sanderson, adding that, “The Dominica Olympic Committee and Dominica Commonwealth Games Association Executive, Staff and Affiliated Associations offer sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Bram Sanderson on his recent passing. Bram Sanderson was a national athlete who represented Dominica in multiple sports including Kayaking and Cycling at both the regional and international level.”
While further noting to the contributions made by Sanderson in the field of sports, Dominica Olympic Committee added that, “Bram Sanderson will be remembered not just for his passion for sports, but also for his constant positivity and encouragement he offered to everyone he encountered. He will be truly missed my many. Rest in Eternal Peace Bram.”
