The President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Charles Savarin, along with the First Lady, Clara Savarin, arrived in the United Kingdom to take part in the Coronation ceremony of the King Charles III. The ceremony will be taking place on May 6, 2023.
It is to be noted that, Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit expressed honour to make announcement of the participation of the Dominica President Charles Savarin during the ceremony.
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt took it to his official Twitter handle to express the honour, adding that, “Honored to announce that H.E President Charles Savarin and Mrs. Clara Savarin are representing the Commonwealth of Dominica at the coronation ceremony.”
Alongside, several other leaders of the Caribbean nations have also arrived in the UK to take part in the Coronation Ceremony of the King Charles III. The leaders of the Caribbean met with the King Charles III in the Marlborough House.
At the same time, the Commonwealth has taken it to their official Twitter handle to share the update, adding that, “Today #CommonwealthLeaders met in Marlborough House with His Majesty King Charles III to welcome him as the new Head of the #Commonwealth ahead of the #Coronation. Leaders discussed areas of mutual interest including the empowerment of young people, as 2023 is the #YearOfYouth.”
Moreover, it is to be mentioned that, the King Charles III will be holding the throne following the demise of Queen Elizabeth II, which took place in the month of September during the past year.
Considerably, the Commonwealth of Dominica and the United Kingdom enjoys strong ties, and it has always grown and benefitted under the leadership and guidance of Queen Elizabeth II. Moreover, the Commonwealth of Dominica has also declared the National Mourning for two days, following the demise of Queen Elizabeth II.
