Each 100 grams of dark chocolate contains 70-85% cocoa and contains significant amounts of fiber, iron, copper, magnesium, manganese, potassium, zinc, phosphorus and selenium. An ounce of darker chocolate is full of antioxidants, flavanols, vitamins and nutrients.

Dark chocolate contains an amazing list of nutrients and antioxidants, so be sure to eat dark chocolate that contains at least 70% cocoa. Remember that the dark chocolate shown in the 1990s is pure and contains no sugar. It is also the cheapest chocolate at $1.25 and is available at some deals for half the price.

Some sources claim that dark chocolate promotes the production of nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow. Antioxidants from dark chocolate can reduce the risk of heart disease by preventing oxidation, lowering bad cholesterol and raising good cholesterol levels. Some studies suggest that dark chocolate may have more benefits than milk chocolate.

The intake of dark chocolate can increase nitrogen oxide levels in the body and lower blood pressure overall. Dark chocolate also contains magnesium, which can also help lower blood pressure. Eating dark chocolate can curb cravings, and its high satiety value can help you feel full for a long time.

Dark chocolate can reduce the cholesterol level of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) in combination with a low-fat diet. These cholesterol levels are responsible for harmful tissues such as the lining of the heart and arteries, so dark chocolate helps your cardiovascular health.

As I mentioned earlier, dark chocolate sits atop a mountain of powerful antioxidants that ward off free radicals and damage to protect your skin. Dark chocolate contains groups of antioxidants such as flavonols, polyphenols and catechins. Dark chocolate is rich in flavonoids, warring of the cell world that fight free radicals which cause disease, cancer and signs of ageing.
