Pakistan: Minister of Science and Information Technology Atif Khan participated in the inauguration ceremony of Peshawar’s various information technology and science technology programs.
As per the reports, the inauguration event was also attended by several other guests, including Provincial Minister Taimur Jhagra, along with women MPs (members of Parliaments).
The provincial minister, Taimur Jhagra and the Minister of Information and Technology expressed their views and thoughts during the ceremony in which IT Minister, Atif Khan, stated, “The overall situation and use of the information technology are rapidly developing at a fast pace, the IT sector has become an important field to adopt in the modern world”.
As per the sources, on his behalf, the Provincial Minister, Taimur Jhagra, expressed the need and importance of information technology and that the Pakistani government is spending a lot of funds to make their IT sector more functional and efficient.
Furthermore, IT Minister Atif Khan also pointed out that development can be challenging in the technology sector if there is no established eco-system and blueprint to follow to set up an efficient IT plant.
A suitable setting and a group of enthusiastic people must be available to get off with such an important step. He added.
The officials conveyed that information technology needs proper research, academics and industry to function well and smoothly along with the youth of the nation who are real change makers; they should be directed in the right direction of growth in the IT field.
As per recent statistics, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has been spending around eight billion rupees on IT training for the first time, said Atif Khan. Under the IT program, around one lakh youth are given basic, intermediate and advanced training.
After the training and education of the youth regarding the IT sector, the youth will be provided with employment opportunities which will also boost the nation’s digital economy.
In addition, the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has become the first to move towards E-Governance recognition, ensuring transparency and services to citizens.
In the end, the app of Citizen Facilitation Centres is complete. In the first phase, nineteen services of five departments will be provided online to citizens, which will be expanded gradually.
