St Kitts and Nevis Association of Persons with Disabilities (SKNAPD) on Thursday has organized an interactive discussion session for hearing impaired people and their parents. The session was held to provide the hearing impaired people with the platform to show their key concerns.
Moreover, the entire meeting has taken place at the Early Childhood Conference Room that is located at Victoria Road, in the capital city of Basseterre.
It is to be noted that the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew has also taken part during the interactive discussion session with the hearing impaired people along with their parents during an event hosted by the St Kitts and Nevis Association of Persons with Disabilities (SKNAPD).
Notably, Prime Minister Drew took it to his official social media handle to share the details about the interactive discussion event, along with the photos of the event. Notably, in the Facebook post, PM Drew added that, “Earlier today, I engaged in interactive discussions with the hearing impaired and parents at an event hosted by the St. Kitts/Nevis Association of Persons with Disabilities (SKNAPD).”
Meanwhile, Dr Drew, during the interactive discussion, has tried his hands on trying the sign language while talking to the hearing impaired people. Although, he mentioned in the post about it as well, noting that, “It was a fruitful and rather insightful dialogue, and I even learned a bit of sign language. It is never too late to learn something new.”
At the same time, the people who had taken part during the interactive discussion have discussed their key concerns along with their views on the ongoing several issues, mostly that is directly affecting them. They have addressed the following issues in the presence of PM Drew.
