The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, on Tuesday, has extended welcome to the Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Timothy N.J. Antoine. It is to be mentioned that the Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), Timothy N.J. Antoine, held meeting with the Cabinet.
During the meeting, the ECCB Governor Antoine held discussions on the performance and prospects of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) and the Commonwealth of Dominica.
Notably, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, took it to his official social media handle to share the glimpses of the meeting with ECCB Governor, Timothy N.J. Antoine, adding that, “Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Timothy N. J. Antoine, meets with the Cabinet to share information on the performance and prospects of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) and the Commonwealth of Dominica.”
It is to be noted that the Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit has mentioned via his official social media handle that the ECCB Representatives will be in Dominica from May 8-11. Referring to which, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit added that, “Representatives of the Bank are in Dominica from May 8-11 as part of its 2023 Country Outreach Mission.”
It is also expected that the Governor Antoine will began his discussions on key issues with PM Skerrit. The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank team will hold meeting with social partners inclusive of civil society, labour unions, churches as well as youth, which is followed by the Dominica’s Bankers’ Association on May 10.
At the same time, the team of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) will also hold meeting with the members of the media on May 11, before the separate visits to the Dominica State College and Roseau Primary School, the ECCB’s mentorship school.
