Amid the continuous rise in crime rate across the state of Pakistan, Punjab Police has officially released an alert for the general public to remain vigilant and not get trapped by fraudsters. Punjab Police via its official handle asked people to remain careful, as fraudsters are using different means to trap innocent people and are asking for ransom amounts from them.

Punjab Police took it to its official Twitter handle, releasing an alert, which reads as follows, “Hello! Good morning. Be careful, be careful! “Some people call and pretend to be police officers and say that your relative has been caught with us for some crime, if you want to redeem, send us the required amount immediately.”

Meanwhile, Punjab Police further added that, “In this situation, instead of informing the local police, people send money and get cheated by the neo-soldiers and lose themselves. Instead of sending money on receiving any such call, immediately report it to your nearest police station or call 15 and support the Punjab Police so that such persons can be brought to justice.”

Police officials have also mentioned about the rise in number of crimes, and mostly of cyber crime, which is on continuous spike. People sitting on the other end of the world are trapping innocent people, sitting at the very other end.

Moreover, people further took it to comment section, through which they have expressed their stories of falling as victim to such cyber crimes, of which several comments reads as follows, “Criminals are sitting on other end of the phone and are pretending to be somebody very close to you or are trying to imitate someone, who is either among your friends or someone closer. Using these means, they are trapping people and are asking for big big amounts.”

At the same time, police teams have ensured to support people, and also asked people to remain vigilant.
